The glass reinforcement presence in either PA6 or PA66 causes the material to have higher compressive strength and rigidity, as well as improved frictional characteristics. Further, glass filled nylon also offers higher maximum service temperatures compared to standard grades. However there is generally a compromise in the surface finish of moulded parts due to the presence if the glass fibres.
In summary GF options offer:
· Increased rigidity & stiffness
· Increased flexural strength
· Increased melting temperature
