PolyGlobal proudly works in partnership with Covestro to supply a range of polyurethane systems from their core manufacturing site in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Due to their excellent combination of physical properties, polyurethane elastomers are used in a wide range of applications where flexibility and durability are needed. Cast polyurethane elastomers based on Desmodur® systems from Covestro provide high abrasion and chemical resistance, load-bearing ability, and tunable flexibility. They can withstand exposure to chemicals and oils, cutting, tearing, sliding and stretching, impacts, and various damaging forces. These materials therefore provide excellent solutions for damping, protection and material handling applications such as bend restrictors and bend stiffeners utilized in the safeguarding of offshore umbilicals.
The performance of Desmodur®-based cast polyurethane elastomers has been repeatedly demonstrated in a wide landscape of applications in offshore, mining and construction industries, machine parts and other equipment with varied systems designed for specific environments. Therefore PolyGlobal offer a range of Desmodur® and Baytec® grades.
These MDI-polyether and polyester based systems offer a range of hardnesses from 55 Shore A to 75 Shore D. These materials enable PolyGlobal to manufacture bespoke solutions suited to each individual application. The key properties make these materials ideal for solutions such as diablo rollers which are utilised within the Offshore and Marine Industry.
