LEADING polyurethane moulders PolyGlobal have been shortlisted for not one but two of the UK’s top manufacturing awards.
The Wakefield based company which manufactures bespoke high-performance polymer parts for critical industries around the world is a finalist in The Manufacturer MX Awards 2019 (TMMX) in both the Achieving Customer Value and International Trade categories.
The Manufacturer MX Awards are known for being the UK’s largest and most rigorous industry awards programme. To be shortlisted for the Achieving Customer Value award PolyGlobal were required to show how their customer strategy has contributed to the growth of the business, helped drive innovation, improve operational excellence and enhance customer service.
It’s commitment to export, how it’s expanded its overseas business with an increase in international sales contributing significantly to the company’s future were key criteria in the International Trade category.
The next round of judging will see a panel of industry experts and leading academics visiting PolyGlobal which employs 30 people at the premises where the business was founded more than 30 years ago.
Managing Director Jordan Cook said: “The Manufacturer MX Awards are highly prestigious within the UK manufacturing industry and we are thrilled to be shortlisted in both the categories that we entered. Customer value is something in which we have invested significantly in recent years in terms of new equipment and processes as well as developing Hyperpol™, our own high performance polymer, and proving its capabilities in conjunction with Bradford University’s Polymer Interdisciplinary Research Centre.
“Our business has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Volume has increased by 25% in the last 12 months with export sales rising by 15% and accounting for 40% of our turnover. We are up against some tough competition for the awards and don’t expect the next round to be at all easy but we look forward to welcoming TMMX judges to PolyGlobal and showing them what we are about.”
The winners of The Manufacturer MX Awards will be announced at an award ceremony and gala dinner at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool on November 14 as the culmination of The Manufacturer’s Digital Manufacturing Week.
TMMX have received a bumper number of entries this year with such blue chip companies as GSK, Coca Cola, Siemens and Airbus all contenders across the 11 categories.
