PolyGlobal – A Family Affair for the Colour Run

Posted on: 15th Jul 2019

On Sunday 14th July, a group of colleagues from PolyGlobal took part in the Wakefield Hospice 5k Colour Run with their children/relatives.

Andy, Jamie and Vicki from the Sales & Marketing team where joined by Tammie from the accounts department and their children/relatives, ranging from age 2 to age 14, who have raised a fantastic £500 in sponsorship!

Wakefield Hospice are the charity of the year for the Wakefield based manufacturer, who specialise in the injection and cast moulding of engineering plastics. PolyGlobal have set themselves the challenge of raising £3000 for their local hospice with activities taking place throughout the year.

The money raised from the Colour Run will take their current total to over £1000. Colleagues have already taken part in the Wakefield Hospice 10k and an ongoing weight loss campaign is helping the fundraising pot steadily grow.

Wakefield Hospice is committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced, active, progressive and life threatening illnesses. They also provide continuing support to families and carers throughout the period of illness and into bereavement. Each year Wakefield Hospice needs to raise £4.2 million.

  • Raising £33 is enough to fund one hour of bereavement support
  • Raising £100 is enough to fund 4 hours of nursing care
  • Raising £428 is enough to fund one patients bed for 24 hours
