On Sunday 24th March, a few members of the PolyGlobal team took part in the Wakefield 10k run to raise funds for Wakefield Hospice, their 2019 charity of the year.
Their team included varying levels of running experience. Everyone who took part put a lot of effort in to training for the event and a few personal bests were achieved on the day with times ranging from an impressive 46 minutes to a respectable 1 hour 7 minutes!
The 10km road race, organised by Wakefield Hospice, is one of their main fundraising events of the year. The conditions on the day were ideal for running and the event was superbly organised by the hospice and their volunteers.
The hospice is committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced, active, progressive and life threatening illnesses. They also provide continuing support to families and carers throughout the period of illness and into bereavement. Each year Wakefield Hospice needs to raise £4.2 million.
PolyGlobal will have raised over £400 for this particular event and will continue to fundraise over the coming year. You can support them via their Virgin Money Giving page. any amount can really make a big difference:
The Wakefield based manufacturing firm are hoping to enter a team into the Wakefield Hospice Colour Run in July and other fundraising activities include a weight loss campaign, and a Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge later in the year.
